What’s the biggest “garbage” food out there?
There’s plenty to choose from. But if I had to choose one, it would be of the fast food variety.
Just how bad is fast food for you?
It was put on full display in the 2004 documentary Super Size Me.
In the movie, filmmaker Morgan Spurlock ate McDonald’s 3 times per day for 30 days.
At first, he seemed happy and even overjoyed at being able to eat nothing but McDonald’s. After a couple of days though, he felt MISERABLE.
Once the 30 day experiment was done, here’s what happened to his body:
- He gained 24 pounds
- His body fat increased 13%
- His cholesterol increased to 230 mg/dL
- His liver became fatty
- He experienced mood swings and irritability/depression
- He had problems functioning sexually
How long did it take Spurlock to undo all the damage done by just 30 days of McDonald’s?
14 months. And it involved eating a special vegan diet prepared by his chef girlfriend.
